Tuition Sessions

I offer weekly tuition sessions of 55 minutes, and generally follow the Edinburgh school term dates.  As a rough guide, you can find those here, though I will always confirm exact dates with you at the beginning of each term.

 

Since the Covid-19 outbreak, I have been able to offer tuition either in person or online using a video link and interactive whiteboard.

The main purpose of tuition sessions is to support your child with their schoolwork.  When working face to face, this means bringing along their maths jotters, school iPad, and any homework so that we can look at them together and ensure that your child has fully understood the work.  Sometimes during this process, we pick up aspects of earlier work which are not secure, and we will cover them too, to give your child a solid foundation for the new work.

Similarly, when working online, your child will get the most out of the sessions if you are able to provide information about what they have been working on at school.  The best way to do this is to take a photograph or scan of their jotter and/or homework sheets and email it to me before the start of the session.  This will ensure that I can gather all the necessary resources, and ensure that they are uploaded to my PC for use during the session.
